Hareline HMH St Vise Pedestal Model

Description:

What it is

The Hareline HMH St Vise Pedestal Model is a compact, precision-built fly tying vise on a heavy steel pedestal base. It holds a hook rock-solid and gives you smooth 360-degree rotation, which is handy for turning the hook to inspect the far side without letting go of your bobbin.

What to tie with it

This vise is built for controlled, hands-on tying: stacking deer hair, spinning dubbing, and keeping tight thread control while you build heads and bodies. The stable pedestal and adjustable jaw pitch let you move between small patterns and larger streamer-sized work without fighting the hook angle.

Flies and the fish they're for

This is the kind of setup tiers lean on when theyre cranking out jig-style flies for smallmouth, where rabbit, bucktail, and marabou are common materials and clean thread control matters on heavier hooks. It also suits bigger streamer patterns for freshwater predators like trout and bass, and it crosses over just as easily to saltwater-style streamers when you need a vise that wont flex or creep while youre packing hair or working bulky materials.

How it compares

Quick-change jaws make it easier to swap jaw setups for different hook sizes or styles, instead of asking one set of jaws to cover everything. That matters most when you routinely bounce from tiny hooks to larger streamer and jig hooks in the same tying session.
