Hareline Iridescent Veevus Thread

Description:

What it is

Hareline Iridescent Veevus Thread is a fly tying thread meant to be part of the fly, not just the thing holding it together. Its a good choice when you want the wraps to show on the hook as a clean, bright thread body or a built head.

What to tie with it

Use it for thread-bodied flies, for building and finishing heads where you want a visible accent, and for ribbing by open-spiraling the thread over a dubbed or smooth body. It also works well in furled extended bodies and on terrestrials where a simple, durable thread build is the whole point.

Flies and the fish they're for

Clouser Minnows are a natural fit for this thread, since you often want a neat, visible head and a strong tie-in that wont slip when youre stacking materials. Fish a Clouser for smallmouth in rivers and reservoirs, for stripers in lakes and tidal water, and for redfish on the flats and along marsh edges. This thread also shows up in trout tying when youre building small flies and want the thread to stay visible as a hot-spot-style collar or accent.
