Hareline Mini Squiggle Worms

Description:

What it is

Hareline Mini Squiggle Worms are short, tapered lengths of silicone made specifically for tying worm imitations. The silicone stays flexible and gives a built-in wiggling action in the water, and the taper helps the fly read like a smaller, natural worm profile. Its easy to handle at the vise since youre not building a body from wraps; youre tying in a ready-made worm section.

What to tie with it

Use it to form the full body of worm flies by tying it in at one end and securing it with tight wraps, then trimming to length. Its also handy for quick, thread-light ties where youre basically anchoring the material and adding a little thread work for durability. The tapered shape lets you choose whether the fly rides thicker-to-thinner or vice versa depending on how you want the silhouette.

Flies and the fish they're for

Tie it into Squiggle Worm and Squirmy Wormy style patterns, including classic San Juan Worm variations, when you want a simple aquatic worm imitation. These are staple flies for trout in rivers and tailwaters, especially when fish are keyed on worms after higher water, dam releases, or muddy conditions. The same worm profiles also get eaten by grayling in coldwater streams when more normal nymphs and dries arent moving fish.

How it compares

Compared to Ultra Chenille and other traditional worm-fly materials, Mini Squiggle Worms give you a softer, more animated wiggle in the water. Versus Spirit River Squirmy Wormies, this version is tapered, while non-tapered options tend to suit bigger, thicker worm patterns.
