Hareline Peak Bobbin Rest Assembly

Description:

What it is

The Hareline Peak Bobbin Rest Assembly is a bobbin cradle system that mounts to your tying setup to hold your bobbin when you want both hands free. Its built from brass and stainless steel components with an adjustable arm and a smooth cradle that lets the thread track with friction-free movement. The non-corrosive, durable construction is meant to live on the bench without getting gritty or sticky over time.

What to tie with it

You use it to support the bobbin while tying so you can control thread angle and manage thread tension more consistently as you work around the hook. Its especially helpful when youre wrapping fine materials over longer bodies and want steady, even coverage without the bobbin swinging into the fly. By keeping the bobbin parked and tracking cleanly, it reduces tangles and helps prevent thread breakage.

Flies and the fish they're for

This is a bench tool rather than a fly material, so it doesnt show up in specific patterns, but it earns its keep on flies where clean thread control matters. Long-bodied streamers and saltwater patterns for species like striped bass and redfish benefit when youre trying to keep thread tension even and wraps flat while youre building up bodies and securing slippery materials. Its also handy on trout flies when youre tying smaller patterns on fine thread and want to avoid sudden tension spikes that can snap thread or shift delicate materials.
