Hareline Peak C-Clamp

Description:

What it is

The Hareline Peak C-Clamp is a true rotary fly-tying vise built around a C-clamp base that locks it down to the edge of your bench. It uses hardened, tempered tool steel jaws with a no-slip grip, and the clamp itself has parallel jaws for a solid, stable hold while youre tying.

What to tie with it

A true rotary vise shines when you want clean thread wraps and controlled, even wraps for bodies and ribbing without constantly repositioning the hook by hand. Its also handy for building dubbing sections and tying in materials with consistent tension, which is why a lot of folks like it for production bench tying where repeatability matters.

Flies and the fish they're for

A rotary setup like this gets put to work fast on patterns like a Woolly Bugger for trout in rivers and stillwaters, and also for smallmouth and largemouth bass in warmwater. Its a practical tool for spinning out and wrapping on a Copper John, a go-to nymph for trout in faster runs where a durable body and tidy ribbing count. On the dry side, its the kind of vise you can learn on with an Adams, Griffiths Gnat, or Rusty Spinner for trout on hatches and spinner falls, where clean proportions and neat thread control show up in how the fly rides.

How it compares

Compared to a pedestal base, the C-clamp style is the move when you want more stability by anchoring the vise directly to the bench.
