Hareline Shrimpy Crabby Legs

Description:

What it is

Hareline Shrimpy Crabby Legs is a silicone leg material for tying flies that need convincing, jointy legs. Its ultra-durable and flexible, with a translucent finish that gives a lifelike look and movement in the water.

What to tie with it

Use it for crustacean legs on shrimp and crab patterns, and anywhere you want legs that kick and wave on the swing or strip. On the vise, you can knot sections for a kneed profile, then pin them in with thread so the legs splay out to the sides; it also works well as leg pairs on stonefly nymphs, in streamers, and on larger dry flies.

Flies and the fish they're for

Work it into Veverkas Mantis Shrimp for flats species like bonefish and permit, and also for redfish on shallow grass and sand. Tie it in as crab legs on Merkin-style crabs, a classic permit fly on tropical flats and a strong choice for redfish and drum in the marsh. In crab and shrimp patterns in general, this style of silicone legging is right at home for striped bass when youre fishing crabby or shrimpy meals in current and along structure.
