Hareline Stonfo Magnifying Glass With Suction Cup

Description:

What it is

This is a 2X magnifying glass built to sit right at your fly tying vise on a flexible positioning arm. The lens view is distortion-free, and the base locks down with a suction cup so it stays put while you work. Its lightweight and portable, so its easy to move between benches or pack for classes and travel.

What to tie with it

You use it any time you need to see the exact tie-in point and keep thread control clean, especially on small hooks. Its handy for checking proportions as you build the fly, seeing into dense hackle, and inspecting your finishing work like the head, whip finish, and final thread wraps before cement.

Flies and the fish they're for

There arent specific patterns tied to this tool, but it earns its keep on tiny, detail-heavy flies where mistakes are hard to spot until they cost you. Think small trout dries and midges for tailwaters and spring creeks, and compact nymphs where clean tie-ins matter for drift and durability. Its also useful on small saltwater patterns where a neat head and solid finish help a fly hold up to fish like redfish and seatrout.

How it compares

It doesnt change what hooks your vise can hold or how strong the jaws are, because it isnt part of the hook-holding system. Its strictly a visibility tool, not a vise upgrade.
