Hareline Stonfo Parachute Plier

Description:

What it is

The Hareline Stonfo Parachute Plier is a parachute hackle plier for controlling hackle while you wrap it around a post. Its built from stainless steel with rubber-padded jaws, so it stays lightweight, resists rust and corrosion, and grips hackle without chewing it up. The spring-loaded tension gives you a firm hold, but the padding keeps that grip gentle.

What to tie with it

Use it to grab the tip of a hackle feather and wrap clean, even turns around a parachute post without losing control of the feather. Its made for parachute patterns and the kind of post-and-wrap technique that boosts buoyancy and keeps a dry fly stable on the surface. It also helps when youre trying to keep hackle tension consistent while you lock the wraps in.

Flies and the fish they're for

This tool is for parachute dry flies, the kind you fish on top for trout on rivers and spring creeks when theyre keyed on adults and you need a stable, high-floating presentation. Parachute-style dries are also common for panfish like bluegill on ponds and lakes when theyre sipping small bugs at the surface. Anywhere youre tying and fishing parachute hackle, this plier is aimed at making that wrap cleaner and easier.
