Hareline Super AA Vise

Description:

What it is

The Hareline Super AA Vise is a fly tying vise with a true 360-degree rotating head and a locking rotation so you can spin a fly for access or lock it down for controlled tying. It mounts with a sturdy clamp and holds hooks with a steady, slip-resistant jaw system plus adjustable jaw tension for dialing in grip.

What to tie with it

Use it for anything where you want the hook to stay put while you manage thread, materials, and tension, from careful thread control work to precise trimming. The rotary head lets you turn the fly to see the far side without regripping, and the rotation lock is handy when you want fixed-position tight wraps.

Flies and the fish they're for

A vise like this is the day-to-day tool for tying everything from small trout dries and nymphs for rivers and tailwaters to bigger freshwater streamers for bass and stripers. The steady hook grip and adjustable jaw tension matter when youre tying tiny hooks for trout one minute and stepping up to larger hooks for warmwater and inshore patterns the next. Rotary access is especially useful any time youre building bodies and finishing clean heads for trout, bass, and saltwater species.

How it compares

The clamp mount saves desk space compared with a pedestal base. Adjustable jaws mean you can cover more hook sizes without needing a second vise.
