Description:
The Redington Classic Trout Reel is a dedicated fly reel designed to complement moderate-action rods and technical trout fishing setups. Eschewing the bulky, high-arrest drag systems found on saltwater reels, this reel focuses on lightweight aesthetics and smooth, consistent performance. It is specifically engineered for the angler who prioritizes balance, delicate tippet protection, and a classic "click" sound while pursuing trout in spring creeks and mountain streams.
Key Features:
- Ultra-Lightweight Construction: Machined from high-quality aluminum, this reel is designed to be exceptionally light to ensure it doesn't tip the balance of modern, lightweight trout rods.
- Classic Large Arbor Design: Features a wide arbor that increases line retrieval speed and reduces "line memory" (coiling), ensuring your fly line remains straight and supple for better presentations.
- Smooth Disc Drag System: Equipped with a reliable, adjustable disc drag that provides consistent tension. It is finely tuned to protect light 5X, 6X, or 7X tippets from snapping during a sudden surge.
- Quick-Change Spool: Features a simple push-button release mechanism, allowing you to swap between different fly lines (such as floating and intermediate) in seconds.
- Easy Left-to-Right Conversion: The retrieve direction can be easily switched without the need for specialized tools, accommodating both left- and right-handed casters.
- Anodized Finish: The surface is treated with a durable anodized coating to resist scratches and corrosion, maintaining its professional look through years of use.
- Textured Drag Knob: The oversized, knurled drag knob is easy to grip and adjust, even with cold or wet hands at the water's edge.
- Ergonomic Handle: Features a comfortable, easy-to-grip handle that provides a positive tactile feel when reeling in a fish or taking up slack.
