Rio Elite Gold – Slick Cast Fly Line – Moss/Gold/Gray

Description:

The ultimate multi-purpose line for the angler with a dry fly focus, but a readiness to adapt to subsurface pursuits as conditions change.

The long head and relatively light weight of the RIO Gold compared to its XP and MAX counterparts makes it our best all-around trout taper for carrying long lengths of line and precise casting. With a 47-foot head (WF5F) and long back taper this line is an excellent all-around fly line on rivers and lakes when medium to long casts and distance mends are required. At standard weight with a longer 5-foot 6-inch tip taper (WF5F) for soft presentations, RIO Gold effortlessly delivers flies with delicacy and finesse. With elevated line control at distance, excellent presentation, and precise mending capabilities due to its longer back taper, its the ultimate multi-purpose line tuned to the angler who rigs with dry fly intent then adapts as conditions change to droppers and light indicators.

This line is built with RIO's low-stretch ConnectCore Plus, resulting in incredible levels of sensitivity when casting and fishing -- providing enhanced detection of takes, faster hook sets, and far greater control when playing a fish. In addition, this line is built with SlickCast, RIO's proprietary coating technology, creating the slickest, most durable fly lines on the market. Lab tests show that lines built with SlickCast have the least amount of friction ever measured in a fly line.

Long Head and Standard Weight configuration maximizes ability to carry line and mend at distance.

Long Rear Taper maximizes line control on long casts, both in the air as well as on the water when mending.

Front-Loaded Body loads the rod effectively on shorter casts while maintaining the ability to carry long lengths of line.

Mid-Length Front Taper for maximum versatility, capable of turning over heavier rigs on shorter leaders powerfully or tiny dry flies on long leaders with finesse.
