Hareline Barred Crazy Legs

Description:

What it is

Hareline Barred Crazy Legs are flat, square-cut silicone legs that come as welded skirt strips with both ends fused. You peel or cut off the strands you need, and the material brings built-in flash from the flake plus a barred look. In the water those flat silicone legs wiggle and kick with very little current or strip.

What to tie with it

Use them anywhere you want legs or extra motion: stonefly and hopper legs, rubber-leg nymph accents, and swimming appendages on streamers. Theyre easy to tie in as a bundle off the welded ends, or peeled into single strands and knotted, trimmed, or doubled over for thicker legs. They also work as short feelers or tail tips, and even as a little wing accent on some patterns.

Flies and the fish they're for

Rubber Leg Stimulators use this style of silicone legging to give that big attractor-dry silhouette and movement for trout on rivers, especially when youre imitating hoppers or stoneflies. Gotchas are a classic place for barred silicone legs as feelers/legs on a shrimp-style saltwater fly, commonly fished for bonefish on flats. This is also the kind of leg material that shows up in multi-fly rubber-leg rigs and on carp flies in streams and rivers where a little extra motion helps fish commit.

How it compares

Compared with Hareline Round Rubber Legs, Crazy Legs have a flat, square profile instead of a round one, and they add flash and barring rather than staying solid. Round Rubber Legs are just the smooth round look; Crazy Legs are the choice when you want that extra visual texture and shimmer along with the movement.
