Hareline Big Fly Fiber W/Curl

Description:

What it is

Hareline Big Fly Fiber W/Curl is a curled synthetic fly-tying fiber meant for building big shapes fast. The tips have built-in curl, so it pushes water and gives a lively look, but it stays lightweight, water-resistant, and sheds water easily.

What to tie with it

Use it when you want bulk without adding weight, especially in large-bodied fly bodies, long tails, and big streamer profiles. Its a good fit for stacking and blending clumps to build tapered bodies, then trimming to shape if you need a clean silhouette.

Flies and the fish they're for

This material is at home in oversized baitfish and meat style streamers where you want a long, moving tail and a full body that doesnt get waterlogged. Those kinds of flies get fished for largemouth and smallmouth bass in ponds, lakes, and rivers, and for trout when youre swinging or stripping bigger streamers. It also crosses over well to saltwater-style profiles for fish like striped bass and redfish, where a water-shedding synthetic helps when youre making repeated casts and long strips.
