Hareline Silicone Flutter Legs

Description:

What it is

Hareline Silicone Flutter Legs are flat-cut silicone legs used to add a fluttering, wiggling action to a fly. The silicone is durable, and that flat profile pushes more water than round legs so it shows up clearly when the fly is moved or paused.

What to tie with it

Tie them in as legs on nymphs, terrestrials, and crustacean patterns, or as extra movement points in streamers. You can trap a pair in with a figure-eight wrap for even spacing, or tie them in along the sides as lateral legs on shrimp and crab-style flies.

Flies and the fish they're for

Woolly Buggers are a classic place to add silicone legs when you want more motion; theyre fished for trout in rivers and stillwaters, and they also cross over to warmwater species like bass in ponds and lakes. Silicone legs also fit naturally on shrimp and crab imitations, which are staple flies for saltwater flats fish like redfish and seatrout, where that subtle flutter can sell the eat.

How it compares

Compared to Hareline Round Rubber Legs, these have a flat profile rather than a rounded one, which changes the look in the water and tends to emphasize a broader flutter. If you want a more cylindrical, cord-like leg silhouette, the round rubber style is the closer match.
