Hareline Zap Roe and Go

Description:

What it is

Hareline Zap Roe and Go is a preformed egg imitation made from soft plastic. It has a soft feel and comes already shaped, so youre not building an egg from yarn or resin at the vise. On the hook it stays egg-like without much fuss because the shape is already there.

What to tie with it

Use it for single egg patterns by mounting it on the hook shank, or as an accent in egg-sucking streamers where you want an obvious egg at the head or throat. You can also thread it on the leader to fish it as a standalone egg ahead of a fly or as part of an egg-and-dropper setup.

Flies and the fish they're for

This material is used for single egg patterns, which are a staple for trout and steelhead in rivers during spawn and egg-drift windows. It also fits egg-sucking streamer accents, the same style of add-on you see in Egg-Sucking Leech-type approaches that get fished for trout and steelhead in moving water, especially behind salmon and on tailouts where eggs tumble. Threaded on the leader, its commonly fished as an egg offering for trout in rivers and tailwaters where fish key on drifting eggs.

How it compares

Compared with Spirit River UV2 Fusion Egg Beads, Roe and Go has a softer feel, and its installed by using a heated shank rather than glue. UV2 Fusion Egg Beads are less soft-feeling than Roe and Go.
