New Arrival Hareline Unique Hair

Description:

What it is

Hareline Unique Hair is a synthetic tying hair made up of softer, smaller-diameter fibers than many other craft-style hairs. On the hook it stays thin and pliable, so it moves easily in the water without building a bulky profile. It also takes permanent marker well, which is handy when you want to add quick barring or shading at the bench.

What to tie with it

Use it anywhere youd reach for straight synthetic hair for a streamlined baitfish shape: stacked and evened for wings, or tied in and blended for longer, flowing profiles. Because its thin and flexible, it works well for sparse streamer wings and for topping materials where you want movement without a lot of lift. The marker-friendly surface makes it useful when youre finishing a fly and want to add simple accent marks after the wing is in.

Flies and the fish they're for

This material is commonly chosen in the same roles as similar synthetic hairs, so it fits naturally into baitfish and fry-style streamers that get fished for trout in rivers and stillwaters, and for bass in ponds, lakes, and rivers. In saltwater, the same thin synthetic-hair wing style is standard on small baitfish patterns for species like redfish and striped bass around flats, passes, and tidal current. Since no specific patterns are documented in the evidence here, think of it as a clean synthetic-hair substitute youd use when you want that slim, mobile Super Hair look but with a softer, finer fiber.

How it compares

Its similar in appearance and general properties to Super Hair, but the fibers are smaller in diameter, thinner, and more pliable. Like Super Hair, it accepts permanent markers for quick customization.
